The patrol can fix your vehicle
If any parts are replaced at the roadside, you can claim for them if they're covered, up to the £535 claim limit – you'll just need to pay the £35 excess. The patrol will tell you how to do this.
The patrol can do a temporary repair but your car needs to go to a garage
The patrol will inform you about local AA approved garages that can do a complete repair. This should be done urgently to make sure the vehicle stays roadworthy and safe, and to prevent further damage to the vehicle. The repair must be carried out within 400 miles from the mileage at the breakdown.
Only use this booking link if you have Parts and Garage Cover and recently had a breakdown.
You start your Parts and Garage Cover claim by booking an AA approved garage. Here's how it works.
- The garage will do a diagnostic check to find out what needs to be repaired. The cost for this service is £35.
- If your Parts and Garage Cover claim for the repair is approved, the £35 diagnostic charge will be used as your excess for the claim.
- Our team will then manage your claim and settle the costs directly with the garage.
- If the fault is covered and the claim is under £535, you only have to pay the excess.
If there are no local AA approved garages, you can use your own repairer. They must first diagnose the fault, which may be chargeable – we'll only pay for this if the claim is approved.
Once they've diagnosed the fault the garage will need to ring our claims team on 0344 579 0042 to get authorisation for the repair.
If approved we'll give them a claim authorisation number – keep a note of it for reference.
