Car servicing with AA Smart Care

Book a car service

Get a service at an AA approved local garage

The easy way to book a car service

Get a major, full or an interim service from the AA. Just enter your number plate and postcode to get started.

  • We’ll show you fixed prices for your chosen car service before you complete your booking. And if any more work is needed, we'll get the go-ahead from you first.
  • You don't need to be an AA member.
  • UK wide AA approved garages – all checked against our highest standards with a 12 month guarantee on parts and labour.

Types of car service

A service is a routine check-up done by a garage or a mobile mechanic. A technician will look at the condition of your car and check parts like brakes and tyres for wear and tear.
We recommend that your vehicle has a major service every 24 months, or every 24,000 miles if that comes sooner.
Inbetween, we recommend getting a full service after a year, or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.
If you're a high mileage driver, we recommend an additional interim service every 6 months.
  • Interim service
A 39 point inspection, including renew oil filter and engine oil.
  • Full service
A 42 point inspection, including renew oil filter and engine oil, and renew the air filter.
  • Major service
A 45 point inspection, including a brake fluid check, renew oil filter and engine oil, and renew the air filter and the pollen filter.
  • Engine oil and oil filter change
An extra change to keep your engine running smoothly for a longer life.

Getting your car serviced regularly:
  • Helps to prolong the life of your car.
  • Can spot issues that might cause a problem, so you can get them fixed.
  • Increases the resale value of your car as it shows it's been well looked after.
